| Roman Numeral: | Signed & Dated | This chair was commissioned by CF Knight of Dalton, WI. It was custom fit to his liking being especially sure that the seat depth didn't put pressure on the back of his legs. Kathy made the cushions. He provided the thick walnut it was made of.
Charlie sawed and air dried hardwood lumber harvested in Green Lake County. He also ran a hardware store and seed cleaning operation. I can no longer recall just how I came to know Charlie but I am very glad that I did. He was a man of many interests and was especially proud of his wildflower photographs. His wife, Alice, was equally interesting and we became good friends with them. I would like to think Charlie enjoyed his chair right up to his passing in 1991. |
