| Roman Numeral: | Signed & Dated | I made this furniture for our very first home. It was designed and built as we planned our wedding. The headboard was made from 2 inch thick Black Walnut which came from Charlie Knight in Green Lake County, WI. The night stands were made from 1 inch walnut lumber. All of this lumber was air dried.
The project was carried out in a borrowed basement workshop in the building I lived in at the time. I had the use of a small tablesaw and some hand tools. Our wedding date was immediately carved into the back of the headboard. As time passed two additional carvings were performed for the births of our children. |
