The Artist
Bruce Erdman is returning to the woodworking scene after a 20 year hiatus. His work has appeared
in the prestigious Fine Woodworking magazine (1982, No. 33), Fine Woodworking Design Books Two
and Three, the American Crafts Buyers Book, 1980-83 and the Goodfellow Catalog of Wonderful
Things No. 3. His body of work from 1975 to 1986 included adapted reproductions, custom and
original designs and production office furniture, all characterized by meticulous attention
to craftsmanship and best display of the inherent beauty of a wide range of domestic and
imported wood.
Bruce's work was displayed in the late 70's and early 80's at the highly competitive
American Craft Council shows in Baltimore, Rhinebeck, St. Louis and Dallas; the Philadelphia Craft
Show and the Las Olas Art Festival in Ft Lauderdale. Galleries from Seattle to Miami and Hawaii to
Maine supplied his original box designs, featuring tambours (rolltops) and contemporary shapes, to
eager customers who continue to enjoy his work today. Larger original and custom designed furniture,
each signed and dated, some with secret compartments, are scattered throughout the US serving as
heirlooms for years to come.
In retirement, Bruce resumes his woodworking passion on a smaller scale and invites you to enjoy
an enduring work of art in your home today.
